Mother Remarries
I'm a middle aged woman and my elderly
mother is remarrying after nearly ten years widowed. I'm very
happy for her, but it feels as though she's not completely sure about
this. I've offered an ear if she needs me and I've taken her out
for a quiet dinner, in hopes she'd talk. She's not. What can
I do?
It's a hard thing to know that
something is stressing someone we love, but what it comes down to is
that she's a capable and grown woman. You have offered support and
your love, which she knows is strong. Right at the moment she
seems to be choosing to work this out herself.
She knows you're there if she needs
you.
